All hail disco queen Gloria Gaynor for using her classic disco anthem “I Will Survive,” to teach people how to properly wash their hands.
As reported by the NY Post, the 70-year-old singer posted on TikTok and repurposed her iconic song to show people how to properly wash their hands. (Or check out the CDC’s tips on proper hand washing).
@gloriagaynorIt only takes :20 seconds to “SURVIVE!”👏💕🎶 ##iWillSurviveChallenge ##fyp ##coronavirus ##handwashing♬ I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor
So, maybe instead of singing “Happy Birthday” or “God Save the Queen” while sudsing up, you can make like Gaynor and lip sync everyone’s favorite breakup anthem instead. It’s also intriguing if not completely exhilarating to note the way a singer whose popularity peaked about four decades ago is using a trending social media medium of choice to make a breakthrough PSA.
