Bright Eyes, Big City

Since the majority of us are going to be stuck at home for the foreseeable future, we’re going to have to figure out new beauty and grooming routines that serve us best at this moment in time. For some that will mean giving into the home part of the the work from home thing and forgoing any complicated routines in favor of the natural look. For others, it’ll be business as usual with the same daily makeup application or hair routine as if they were still heading to a 9 to 5 day. Still others will go wild with possibility, but back to that in a minute.

Because we’ve never been through an international pandemic of this nature before, we’re all learning as we go. And so on this end, we’re going to amp up our content and continue posting a lot about how to make the best of the here and now, or how to find ways to enjoy the things that make you happy.

This confusing time won’t last forever, but there’s no reason to give up on feeling cute or looking fabulous just because you’re not heading to the office.

Back to the wild with possibility part. If you’ve always wanted to experiment with your beauty routine, this is the absolute perfect time to go crazy with colors that you might never normally have the nerve to wear. What have you got to lose? So what if your eyes look swollen if you’re wearing fuchsia eye shadow, or if you don’t think that teal flatters you. Wear when you enjoy because now, more than ever you’re making up for yourself.

If you’re in the market for a fun multi-use product, you should check out
Shiseido Kajal InkArtist – Shadow, Liner, Brow which comes in some fun rainbow inspired shades that are not necessarily found in nature. It glides on, lasts for hours and has a strongly pigmented formula, so the color stays bright and strong. It’s also really fun to apply with a light almost gel-like texture that easily allows you to be more playful.

While a classic cats-eye liner has been my signature eye look for ages, I went a little bit crazy with Gunjo Blue and applied on the lash line above and below and then used extra for a thick blue line on my top lid. If subtlety is more your think, it’s a 4-in-1 liner, kajal (like

kohl, a classic and more naturally formulation), eyeshadow, and brow color creates a striking look with bold, 12-hour waterproof wear, an even glide, and a

weightless feel. Plum Blossom or Birodo Green are definitely on my wish list.

If you want to add color but aren’t quite ready for a splurge, check out the recently rebooted Hard Candy Long Wear Eyeliner in many similar colors.
